DAY 1 by Bebe Baxter

Today everyone had to get up early and arrive at the airport at 4:30am. When we all got there Mrs. Adams and Mr. Lawrence checked us all in and we went to the departure lounge.

Our flight left at 6:00am and we got to Alatou at 7:10am and went to the education centre where we got into our rooms and sorted us into teams, team wiggles, team claypots, team USAT and team Nian’s. Our first challenge was the 10 kina market challenge where we had to by as many different produce as we could with just 10 kina. The winner of the challenge was Team Claypots.

Later we all left on a tiring ridge walk where it was a challenge to keep our balance and not slip.

We got back all soaked with water and tired from our walk but we still had energy for some free time of swimming, canoeing, and other activities like ping pong.

Our first day was amazingly fun and we hope to enjoy the rest of our Alotau camp 2012!!!
