Hi Again everyone,

We have had an amazing 2 days up in the Daintree Rainforest. Yesterday we left Cairns early and headed to Kuranda and the Cultural Center. We got to watch some shows and learnt a little about the Aborigines and some of their Dreamtime stories from this area. Some of the students also got to dance in one of the shows which was funny!! We also all got to throw a boomerang and spear, which are traditional hunting methods used by Australia's aboriginal people. We then caught the Sky rail up the mountain to Kuranda, stopping along the way to see the rainforest and waterfalls, it was raining but it was still good fun.

We then headed up to the Daintree and arrived at our accommodation, The Beach House, in time for dinner and a swim and then we all went to bed as everyone was very tired after a long day. This morning we were in separate groups for our activities. Some people went jungle surfing and others went Sea kayaking. The jungle surfing was both terrifying and exhilarating!! There was lots of screaming and some acrobatics on the zip line..... as well as a chance to enjoy the scenery and rainforest canopy. The sea kayakers forged through croc infested waters out to a reef off the beach from our accommodation.... there we saw a huge number of green turtles feeding on the reef and sea grass, they kept popping their heads up to check on us as we paddled past. It was a perfect sunny day and we were all lucky to have had good weather for those activities.

Tonight we are having an Italian dinner and visiting the night markets and then we shall all be in bed early again as tomorrow we have a big day in Cairns.

Catch ya later...
